The thing that intrigues me the most about design is that it is a solutions driven art form. As a designer, you are given a set of parameters to work within and you are tasked with finding the best way to work within them to create something that is highly functional and aesthetically appealing. It demands that you constantly ask "what if", and that you always keep a critical and open mind. It's a profession that is grounded in ideas of change, evolution and innovation and for me, those ideas are the key to a meaningful and fulfilling life.
I have run my own business, worked as a freelance designer and am now working in-house. I can be happy and productive in any of those scenarios as long as the work is interesting, the people are kind and the ideas are free flowing.
